Microphonics????

Last night I discovered what I think is microphonics. I dropped a CD case and it fell on the chassis of my Dared pre-amp, and I heard a "ding" coming from the speakers. I tapped on the chassis with my fingers and there was the ding again. I kept on doing this on the tubes and got to the issue being just one of the two 12AT7 tubes.

So, here are my questions:

-Does this impact somehow the sound? I just installed this pair of tubes to start burning them (Jan Phillips).
-I've seen those rings that some people use on their tubes; will this fix the problem, or are they meant to avoid what has already happened to that tube?

Thanks.

    Throw the tube away.
Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Thanks Russ; I love how detailed your explanations are :)

I will experiment on how a vacuum tube sounds when being hit by a hammer

 Keep it for decoration! For a Christmas tree ornament! To hang from your review mirror! Anything but destroying it!
