Okay for some of us it's a new year and that will mean new gear maybe? I know it will for me. So I'll start off this wonderful idea and post what I'm looking to do.
That is my plan above. I'm so effing tired of regretting things I haven't done so I may as well try this. Cody suggested I should go w/ the 2 four channels and bi-amp... and Mac suggested I should maybe just try one first. Well I'm tired of not going all out then regretting it.
The alpine 9831 is in there right now and hopefully by the end of the year I'll have the CD7000 sitting perfectly in my dash.
One thing I am skeptical of is how I am going to run both the 4 channels... I know my electrical system will be fine because this setup will not draw as many amps as the one I have currently... BUT I'm more concerned about the number of preouts I have. I could always use Y-Splitters but I get totally confused when it comes to that kind of thing!
Advice would be greatly appreciated... and your plans would be great too.

hmm... not quite as good of a picture, but hopefully i'll change my 300.2 to this 400.4 this year... the dotted-green indicates something worth mucho bucks that i'd absolutely love to get my grubby little hands on...It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon

to buy list:
helix a6~$750
new avantguard 5.5 alarm(hasnt come out yet)~400
Rockford Fosgate 2/0 Power wire~75
Rockford Fosgate 360º(also hasnt come out yet)~150
Rockford Fosgate Power T3001 or 2 T1001s, depends on the size and if theyll fit where i want to put them~400
new alternator--no clue on the price yet, from 280-500ish
2 Orbital batteries~250
2 Batcap 800s~250
about $2300 worth of equipment. I'll probably need some more sound deadening as well.
Im thinking about getting the Pioneer p-9, but im not really sure. The RF 360 should do everything I want so i might not get it, but then again i might, not sure as of yet.
By the end of the year I want to have the box done at least. I'm probably going to end up buying q-form kick panels and throwing the midrange and tweet in there keeping the midbass in the door.
I also have some plans for my tool box...well, half of it. I'm going to put some MDF in there, carpet or vinyl it, and put the other battery and 2 batcaps in there. I'm going to put an actuator on it to unlock it(if thats possible, i dont see why not) and put something like a trunk release on it to pop it up. The other half will still be storage for tools, I think I'll carpet that too, but itll be gray rather than the black, gray, or white(havent decided yet) that the batteries will be in. I thought about putting my amps in there but I'm leaning away from that idea. I think they'd be safer from the elements and thieves if they were in my truck.
Last will be redesigning the front stage, but if I get that done by this year I'll be surprised.
but Ill be ordering the helix a6 at the end of next week, beginning of the week after. Thatll be the most expensive thing I'll be buying on my quest to be 'done', if there is such a quest. But by the time I have all that stuff and installed the way i want, I'll be 'done' enough that I can start putting money towards other things, like an exhaust, chip, and intake for my truck. Then after I'm happy with the performance of my truck, Ill move on to my HT system...

Well... the boring part of my plans, is getting a full-time job. But that leads to the fun, audio part of my plans-
New head unit for the truck. The Pioneer DEH-1500 has served me very well for almost 3 years, but its time has come, and with no aux input, it's starting to cramp my style
New amp for the DB104's. Got the subs for Christmas, so I should be able to swing the amp on my own . Looking at the profile 1000m
Sound deadening. My door panels are starting to buzz, but that might also be taken care of by actually crossing the DB570's over at around 120hz. I have the capacitors to do that, I just haven't gotten my butt out to my frozen truck to rip everything apart. I'm guessing it'll help a lot with clarity, too.
Just got XM in my truck... got the Roady2 for $30. Guess it was worth it... they were moving them out for the Roady XT.
Oh, and maybe for kicks... moving out and into an apartment. Dunno about that, though.Ludicrous gibs! -

Far as changes to my system for this year. Im going to sell my subs and amp and focus on my mids and highs.
I am going to keep my deck for this year since I really don't like any of the new headunits out so far this year.
I am also going to replace my 4 channel alpine v-power amp with the polkmomo 4 channel amp. -
getting laid.
then fine tweaking the truck a little more.
then looming everything up and redo-ing the hood scoop.
then dumping 30 coats of polish on it and hitting the comp scene.
then fixing the front power windows on the caddy, readjusting the belt moldings...
finishing the 88 and then dumping all the audio in.
then drinking a lot.The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -

I don't have any photos yet but my plans are listed in my Boat thread. I will quickly
list the gear here.
Pioneer DEH9600MP Head Unit
Kicker KX700.5 Amp
Polk Momo MMC650's (2 sets)
Polk Momo MM2104's (2)
Pioneer 6 Disk CD Changer
This is all going in a boat and I have lots more to do. I need to wire my Garmin
GPSMap 276C Marine/Auto Chartplotter and interface it via the NMEA BUS into my
Uniden UM525 Ship To Shore VHF plus I have lots of other goodies to install. As soon
as we get some good weather! -
a lot of people don't have systems of that grade in their cars, let alone their boats... its nice to have someone with deep pockets (and who likes to empty them on audio) around... makes for interesting conversationThe Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge

Deep Pockets? Have you ever heard what they say about boats?
Websters Dictionary: Boat (Bow At) n: A Hole in the water you try to fill with money.
In my case it's a hole in my driveway I am trying to fill with money!
My pockets are deep and empty! Ideally I would also have Polk Momo CF amps
to power the whole system.. But I got a heck of a deal on the Amp and Head
Unit and can't pass it up! Otherwise it would be ALL Momo except the HU!
I didn't list all the other things I have to install like Trim Tabs ($800) the GPS
was over a grand, the VHF was $200 and there's so much more... It's a dang
good thing I borrowed so much money! -

Heck yeah.. "Ships" are so expensive that when comissioned, they christen
them with a bottle of Cristal! (Or however it's spelt.. I don't watch MTV Cribs
enough y0!) -
I'm christening my '88 Ram once the beginning of summer / end of spring hits... give him a drive shaft (a good one, not the piece of junk he's got now), and some new valve cover gaskets and a little tuning, and then I'll bust a bottle of Devil Springs 160 proof vodka over his hood ornament... pour a lil down the carb for good measure too if i remember to do so... lil down my throat too. that stuff is good... firewater.. yummy.
i usually end up sick for a week after drinking it though. The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -
