Today, I found a record at goodwill called "the best of deep purple". I looked and looked and determined it was probably not the "deep purple" we all know but at $0.75 I picked it up anyway. Got home and played it. Sure enough, it was the band we know. It's just that it is full of songs made famous by other artists. Mostly Jimi Hendrix. One song was "Help" by the beatles. It seems that this beast was an initial set of songs to show the bands talent. It is obviously a low budget production. Some places the signal level is below the noise level. It is called the "scepter records citation series". I'm thinking it is a very rare thing but really have no clue. Any ideas? Despite the recording quality I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Cool Beans, never heard that one though MM. But I am going to protest to my GW as the mongers are charging .85 per album!!!!

My latest GW find was a pristine copy of Innocent Man--Billy Joel. Not a snap, crackle pop on the entire album, amazing.

Yep, vinyl rocks. I was reading its becoming a bit of a niche market with the young folks. They really dont care about the sound so much as thinking its cool in a DJ, album art sort of way, what goes around always comes back around. I can almost hear Ole Wolfman Jack howling.

Madmax, this is most likely, a bootleg record. Sounds like a typical low budget bootleg. I happen to be a fan of bootleg recordings even though most are far below audiophile quality. Keep it and think of it as part of the audio history of a very good band. If you are really interested Google it, if you haven't already, and you may find a fan site with some info.

Here's what looks like one listed on Ebay. I guess the seller's not a fan of BMW's.
