What do you order online? Where do you order it from? If you do not order from online retailers (e-tailers), why not?
Just interested.

All I do is order online! Where, you ask? At wherever I can find the best price. There are a couple places I'll look first, but I'll always do a search on a search engine assuming it's something relatively expensive.

Well? What do you order (electronics? software? DVDs? car parts?)? And where do you find yourself getting most of it from (buy.com? 800.com? autopartsrus.com?)?

I don't think many people will ever order online until someone
can give them a better sense of security. -
Speaker parts
Partsexpress.com, Madisound.com
why? Bigger selection, lower prices, less hassle than RatShack
shipping can be a little high sometimes, but great service neverless.
Speakers, accessories
Accessories4less.com, audioadvisor.com
why? closeout specials, informative website, never a problem here.
Truck parts - truckperformance.com
why? local parts house usually has to 'order' specialty parts anyway.
Grocery
Half and half, 50% of the time groceryworks.com, other 50%, local Tom Thumb. (same parent company btw)
Floral, special stuff
Proflowers.com (the TOPS in price, service and freshness, always score big with these guys)
Vermontteddybear.com - expensive, but original, and a HUGE hit with the ladies.
Omahasteaks.com - gifts only, I wondered at first, but you can actually send your Dad, or good bud some nice steaks (great for fathers day). They pack in dry ice, and usually you get to choose an 'add-on' free item with your order. (makes the gift even better, more impressive). Never had an issue with these guys.
I have ordered from crutchfield, buy.com, amazon, etc....but I usually use the internet first as a medium to gather product info, pictures, reviews etc. I can essentially do a good portion of my research on a product at work, while I work. I then buy locally, if the price is right and the product is available.

It depends for me. Usually, I will research a purchase online pretty well, however, in most cases I will buy locally if possible. One reason is that I like instant gratification and returns are less hassle.
LLBean - I buy a lot of stuff from thier website
Spun.com - I have bought a few used DVD's and CD's
Amazon.com - I buy books from them as the selection is good and the prices are good.
Buying electronics online scares me because of the shipping.

SEARCH ENGINES
pricewatch.com -- the ultimate search engine for computer parts. I generally buy from whoever has the lowest price on there.
mysimon.com -- great consumer electronics search engine
yahoo.com -- if you look hard enough, you can find the best prices this way
AUDIO
Audio Advisor -- great sales on cool audio stuff and lots of neato accessories.
CONSUMER ELECTRONICS
netmarket.com -- great place to find just about anything, especially consumer electronics, and for a good price too. Hands down cheapest place to buy Polk speakers. The only down side is you have pay $60/year for a membership.
MUSIC
BMGmusicservice.com -- I get all my CD's from them. Can't beat CD's for ~$7/each (when you factor in shipping etc.) -
I order almost all electronics including audio, video, musical instruments and supplies, gadgets, speakers etc online. Also performance car parts. I normally find stuff at about 55% below list or about 30% lower than retail from stores. A couple of first checks are below but I go with whoever is cheapest. I have never had a bad experience with anyone over the net and have no fear over dealing with a site I have never heard of before. I have found all I've dealt with to be worthy of recommendation. I have probably ordered between 10 to 15K of stuff a year so far. The closest I ever came to getting ripped off was by AOL (now there is a popular name) when out of the blue a year after I canceled my free hours with them they charged me $19.95 and told me it was their mistake but they couldn't refund my account. Well, the credit card company had to take care of them! No problems other than that.

Avantgarde horns, 300b tubes, thats the kinda crap I want... -
I ordered some Redline products from them one time. I guess they're a larger dealer than I suspected.

I've been to their store in Ohio. It is awesome! I was in toy land and didn't want to leave. If you like performance stuff get on their site and order a catalog. Next day shipping and normally the cheapest price around (not to mention they hire people who know what they are talking about and offer phone support). Totally customer oriented. A madmax favorite!!!Vinyl, the final frontier...

I have bought from TOO damn many online sites. Ebay, Ubid, 800.com, Buy.com, JandR.com, bettercables.com, AudioAdvisor.com I could go on and on. I have only had had trouble with UPS damages, but they were always replaced. I have had a couple of burns from individuals F'ing A-holes.Dodd - Battery Preamp
Monarchy Audio SE100 Delux - mono power amps
Sony DVP-NS999ES - SACD player
ADS 1230 - Polk SDA 2B
DIY Stereo Subwoofer towers w/(4) 12 drivers each
Crown K1 - Subwoofer amp
Outlaw ICBM - crossover

I would buy almost anything I need online. But the problem is that sometimes I really want to try it first, and regular retailer are better in that sense. There's no problem with books, CDs, DVDs, etc. because you know what you get.
I like to have some references about the company, either because some friend of mine used it, or they have been around for a while and nobody seems to complain.
Also, I do some research, sometimes you get neat offers like no shipping charges... And sometimes you get better prices in a local store.

the best place to order online is brandnamez.com
its hads best low price i have found must check it out:D -
Well, I thought about ordering all my Speakers online but If something goes wrong I want to be able to get some live help fast and the online stores donot preovide that.
But if you do like to Order online I would check out BrandNamez.com, Buy.com, EBay.com, Amazon.com, LLbean.com...
might want to check out www.dealprovider.com for online coupons... -
Chloroform, lime, big trash bags. Stuff like that I like to order online.
George Grand (of the Jersey Grand's) -
I shop extensively online. The company list would be very long.
Right off the top of my head:
Motocycle equipment
Bicycle equipment
Outdoor recreation equipment/climbing /backpacking/hiking
Camera equipment
Computer equipment
Software
Audio equipment
CDs/Books/Videos/DVDs -
Cameraworld
BHphoto
One Call
Crutchfield (only when they have special promotions on Polk speakers)
Ashford
World of Watches
Amazon
DVD Planet or Ken Cranes
Most of times, I shop arround, try to get the best prices, then I call the top three on my list, I will match of beat your prices, their services are very good, I try not to deal with most mail-order dealers in the NY area (except B & H) -
All of my speakers (all Polk) from Crutchfield.
5-inch car speakers
PSW 150 sub
RT55 fronts ($400 closeout when the RTi series came out)
CS300 center (closeout when CSi series came out)
4-inch car speakers ordered just today (another closeout)
If Polk wants to come out with some new surround speakers, I could get the F/X 500 or 300s.
I usually mess with them at Circuit City, then order them from Crutchfield when they get cheap. Ever since CC tried to jam DIVX down my throat, I'll screw them whenever I feel like it. -
The reason he wants to know this is because he's looking for some obscure Peter North titles that aren't stocked around here.

Is there such a thing as an Obscure Peter North title???
