I got them, and I had asked around here how to install the new ones. You all said to remove the crossover panel of my SDA SRS. Polk directions state to remove the sub-bass radiator and unclip the crossover circuit board from the metal plate. It seems easier, to me, to do it the way you guys said...remove the crossover plate. Also, it said to use a phillips screwdriver to remove the sub-bass radiator. Well, I don't know about yours, but my SDA SRS speakers are all hex bits, not a phillips screw head to be found anywhere on the front.

true the screws are hex bits on all the drivers on the SRS's. i imagine it's the same on other SDA's as well. I went down to my local hardware store and bought a multi sized hex bit tool.. works great..

Sorry i have never replaced a poly switch before.. i know lots of people in here have.. i'd be interested in how things go for you. as in the not to distant future i'll have to replace my poly switches too.

Oh yeah, it's called a Torx screw tool.. made by Allen wrenches.

You are correct. The older SRS had the hex screws. Whatever you do, watch closely as you remove them. If they seem extremely tight you can end up turning the little wood nuts they thread into. If you notice they may be this tight I don't know what you should do but breaking them loose from the wood ain't it. I was going to suggest a little WD 40 on them but that may cause the wood to let loose quicker. Probably wont be a problem for you, just be cautious.

FYI- my SDA-2's which were manufactured in 86 I believe, have all Philips head screws on the drivers. the hex screws are a bit of an anomaly, it seems.
    Ludicrous gibs!

Sometimes, I said sometimes, you can slightly tighten a stuck screw to break the corrosion. use caution. Just a hair is all you need.

    +1

And, every SRS I've ever seen has hex heads on everything.
