Could you pls recommend some movies to test out the bass/LFE effects on my new HT setup of Polk R30/R15/CSi25/Dayton 12" subwoofer?

movies and chapter #/scene names would be useful. Thanks.

"War of the Worlds" has broken more subs than just about any other movie. . .

    "Kingdom of Heaven"
    "The Incredibles"
"The Island" also a sub killer but great effects.

Yup. 'War of the worlds (2005)' is highly recommended for subwoofer demo. 'Saving Private Ryan' battle sequence is also fun to tryout. That one depressed one of my eardrums. :P

Does the sub have a 'break-in' period?
Do I play all these movies right away, or should I wait for a couple of weeks?
Just wondering, if the wait would spare the sub when I play the WOTW.

Thanks again for all of your quick responses.

I prefer the trailers of movies for demos so I usually play all the trailers on each dvd I buy.
Other than that I just pop em in and watch the movie.

Common sense. . .If it is too loud turn it down. . .Listen for distress. . .Start low and work your way up. You will run out of gas faster than you might think. . .Use your SPL meter and get everything calibrated first. . Then have a ball. . .
