WTF. Chip Foose personally makes your car a one-off design with the BEST of everything for FREE, and now you're trying to make a buck off of it a few months later. I hate you. I couldn't even afford the brakes on that car...

That was one of the few Foose cars I liked. Hey...It was a new car with NO sentimental value like most of the one they do...and besides it was a chick who you could tell wasn't really into cars anyway. It meant nothing to her....I guess she figured so why not make a few bucks....to bad.

I thought they had a thing that said they weren't allowed to sell it? Guess they probably wouldn't be able to do that, since the car still belongs to the owner.

Boy, you might say that this is kind of like selling an XM tuner that you didn't pay for, eh? :p

i would sell a car that was on pimp my ride or this one if I really needed the money...or didn't need the car. This one was personally done by foose so that definatly has some weight but as far as priority goes. Cars are not the top priority....Loans are a little bit higher...

This is a once in a lifetime type deal. The car and the story is worth more than the money they're going to get from it. I'm sure it's their right to sell it, but it's pretty lame, IMO.

It's like selling your grandfathers WWII stuff just because it's worth money...

I have yet to see one car Pimp My Ride has done that I would actually drive...and still have respect for myself...

As for that car, it looks cool!

Sad thing is a lot of people will do that if they think they can make a buck or two. If my grandpa was in the war (he was too young at the time, but later joined the Marines in '46 and stayed until sometime in the 60's) I'd sure as hell cherish his medals. I know my aunt has a few medals of my great great grandpas from WWI.

As for selling a Foose car, its pretty sad. It's like one of those families from extreme home makeover selling their house because its been on TV.

It's just wrong... if someone is going to pick you to be the lucky one to have had like 30 people spend a week of non-stop work on your car at their expense you better cherish the damn thing. I can understand selling it after a few years if you're absolutly desperate for the money and can't make ends meet, but c'mon that's just low.

bottom line is no one knows why they sold it. Could've been greed- could've been a family crisis- who are we to decide?

keep it, sell it- doesn't matter to me one damn bit. IT'S JUST A CAR! Someone else will give it love, and I'm sure the guy who built it isn't scrapping for cash or had his heart broken by someone he's only met ONCE.

If you poured your time and money into a project to do something for free for someone to create a once in a lifetime opportunity for them would you be mad if they just went "cool thanks for the quick cash" or would you just shrug it off because it's just a car?

i'd be upset. Then I'd wake up the next morning, realize I have my health and still a good amount of money for myself and I'd soon get over it.

This is her "family crisis", and I quote:

"The car is spectacular, my son is turning 10 this month and I need a versatile vehicle that I would not have to stress about."

I can't imagine doing that kind of work on a car for somebody as a random act of kindness, then they turn around and sell it.

Sold for $50,709. Probably would have sold for 4x's that at Barret-Jackson auction.

Hope they enjoy the profit from a very generous random act of kindness.

Wow... I thought for sure it'd at least hit 75k. I'd buy that over some other $50k car in a heartbeat. (asuming I had the cash to buy it)

They probably wouldn't let her sell it on Barret-Jackson even if she wanted too -- too many respectable car lovers there.

i seem to be in the minority here but obviously this woman no longer wants the car, if i spent all that time building something i would want it to go to someone who would appreciate it which obviously is not her.

I don't watch much, but happened to see that one. I can't believe she's dumping it. The whole purpose of the show is to do something like that to someone that love's there car, and deserves an 'overhaulin'. I just lost a bunch of respect for the show. Don't they check if the person they are going to do is someone deserving? (I had already lost respece when Sheryl Crow had Lance's car done. Like they couldn't afford that. It's like extream makeover home edition re-doing Trumps west side apartment).

They're just looking for some quick bucks. Don't tell me she didn't realize her son was turning 10 before she bought the car (it was less than a year old).

That's a very good point. If she wanted a family car in the first place why would she buy a brand new mustang?
