New (very old) amp in the House!

Sorry but I just have to share!

Just bought an old Audire Model 1 (first model) amp for my set-up. I called Audire and spoke with them, they said it's the very first model amp they made (serial is only like 1100). It's about 30 years old and rated at 100wpc, and he said they didn't even make owners manuals for them then.

Draws 500w and has two 10000uf Caps so it should be good for the SDA2b's? I would suppose that the Caps could always be increased as well? Any thoughts?

Oh yeah, I think it was a pretty good deal. $135? + s/h :eek:

    Cool - thanks RuSsMaN - Feeling a little better about it cause I was flying blind but I thought I couldn't go wrong with Audire... for that price anyway.

    i'm no expert but, yes you should be o.k.....i have a marantz 2270, prob 30-35 yrs old...rated at 70 wpc...draws 500 watts...i think the big caps are the same size as your's.....my sda2b's are full and content :D

    Yes, it is SS. I will let you all know how she sounds when I get it all put together. (and settled in one city) I read a couple quick reviews online that compared the early Audire to Phase Linear of that era which should make it a solid sounding amp. Wish me luck!
