Looing in the local junk store, been here a hundred times, it kills off the last of a lunch hour. Never find anything too interesting.
Today, scanning the used CD's, the yellow Telerc lable caught my eye.
I got a pristine copy of Maria Muldaur "Meet me where they play the blues"
This is just what I needed, some good music, her voice is great, the recording is first rate. It is a 20 bit CD, whatever that is.
Did a google, she won blues vocalist of the year.
Also found another Telerc cd, Eddir Kirkland "lonely street" haven't played this yet.
Anyway you blues fans, are these two CD and artists well known and all that?
Thanks

Nice finds, Russ!
Blues is a "late in her career thing" for Maria. I've heard a few blues cuts on XM and they're tastey. The older material I have by her would fall more into the quirky ballad genre to me, although she did the occasional blues cover ("Don't You Feel My Leg" comes readily to mind.) She's always had a great voice and was a real looker in her day as well.
Eddie is solid and completely unique in his approach to writing, playing and singing. I first heard him with Otis Redding and have seen him live several times. The Gypsy of the Blues!! Enjoy! -
