I need a compact setup for my folks family room the center channel can be no taller than 7" because of placement. They want kinda small speakers so that they do not detract too much from the room or something to that nature. However I was looking at the RM7500 and was wondering if anyone had any experience or suggestions on these. I do not need the sub just the speakers and they look pretty cool and the cabinets look fairly small. However, one of the reviews stated that you need a really big high current receiver for these guys or else it could fry it. So the questiong is, Is that true because my dad will be using one of those sony receivers that is supposed to be rated at 110W per channel but I know that those numbers are not even close so please let me know if this receiver will work or if you have a better speaker idea.

I don't really have any information for you regarding the receiver (although I think 110W/channel should be ok) but I have some info regarding the speakers.

There is a set of RM7600 surround speakers on sale on craigslist.org for $425. These are the newer version of the RM7500. The speakers are brand new in the box, never been opened. The subwoofer is not included though but you said you don't need one so it sounds like a good fit. Anyway here is the link, hopefully they're still on sale. I almost bought these myself but just wasn't able to.
