Apple imac computer

From everything I hear the imac is a much better computer than anything a pc computer has to offer. I was just wondering if anyone owns one and could tell me a little bit about it. I am thinking about getting one down the road. I really like how streamed line a imac is. I mean everything is built into the screen.

From everything you hear? Depedns who you listen to. Even apple fans usually aren't fans of iMacs... not exactly a "top of the line" machine. If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Macs are great, iMacs suck compared to what you can get PC side.

I use both Macs and PC's in my school. Both have their advantages and disadvantages:
PC's are faster, until you install the necessary anti-virus software, then the Macs become faster. Why, Macs don't need anti-virus protection.
If you're a gamer, PC is the way to go, many many more games.
If you want to edit your own movies and digital photography, Mac's are far better, the software is easier to use, more powerful, and comes stock with any new Mac.
PC's are easier to repair, replacement parts are abundant.
Adding and removing programs are far easier on a Mac, 99.9% of the time all you do is drag a folder into the applications file. That's it. To remove, drag it to the trash. On PC's no matter how well the uninstall program works, Windows forces the program to leave behind stranded "tenticles" that slow down the computer and can cause crashes. (the .1%, ironically is Microsoft Office, which upon running the first time sticks files all over)
PC's are easier to get an opinion on how to solve an issue.
Internet publishing is a breeze on a Mac, I do my e-zine www.affordableaudio.org on my 12in iBook using the iWork program, Pages, and save it it in a PDF format. All done with programs that come standard with any Mac. That is $300 in Windows add on software.
PC's come in all shapes and sizes, buy or build just what you need.
That's a fair comparison for starters.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

He's asking about iMacs, not standard Macs.
PCs are also far cheaper than Macs and easy to customize on your own.
Otherwise you're right on with everything else you said about the differences between the two. -
I think they're cool and nice and streamlined but I'd still prefer someting else. Now I've never used an imac but I use regular mac's all the time at school and pc's at home. Personally mac's drive me nuts. They're slightly better at some things but with all that added cost and lack of upgradibility I've always kind of turned away from them.
Just a few cents for the pile...
