We've all heard the issues with bigger, older Polks. Here's a chance to help a fellow CP'er make his case.

For example he might say, "Yes, they are bigger, but that just means there's more of them to love."

So post your best lines...

Just remember, they are big enough to bury you in them...

It was either these or the bose, you wouldn't have fit in the bose.

Have her listen seriously to your system with music she likes, well, at least stuff she likes that you know sounds good. Describe the rich, full and detailed sound she is hearing. If she likes music at all she will probably acknowledge what you are saying then you can go from there! May seem corny but it worked for me with building another system up.

I went from a cheap receiver on my main system all the way up to B&K separates (the CDP is nice too however)! All because after I bought the 8t's, even though you might not think them big but she kinda does, I kept telling her if I had nicer equipment it would sound even better. She kept hearing the differences with the changes I made in the equipment and cables all while on the same Polks. So..., hey, it worked for me...

Only problem is she will let me get into other equipment but not bigger Polks since the ones we have now keep sounding better...

I let the Polks speak for themselves!! (Course, doesn't hurt that she actually likes listening, especially now)

I told my wife that the SRS I bought would take up LESS room than what I already had because they are SLIM. "Height is irrelevant, it's the thickness that counts." "Even if they reach the ceiling, it's alright because they aren't deep". "They are an excellent investment, it's like buying a diamond ring".

Oh, and btw....I bought her a freakin' diamond ring.....not surprisingly, the subsequent purchase of the SR2's went rather well with her.

LOL... Not soon, but only cause I won't be heading your way for a bit (as you are well aware).

FYI... no issues with WAF here. She married the SRS's when she married me (some would say they were the better part of that deal). Everytime I bring home another speaker, e.g., 3.1tl's, RTA 12's, Monitor 12's, all she ever says about them is "I like the big ones better." What a woman...

tell her you're going to "upgrade" the drapes/curtains, carpet, kitchen tile/island/appliances, the living room furniture, the bedroom wallpaper and the entire master bath to suit your preferences. Oh yeah and tell her all beige colors are being replaced with artifical Cheetah-skin, including the bed-spread.

    That should do it.
