Blown Momo Sub

well one of my polkmomo subs kicked the bucket today. It started making a loud popping noise when I would turn it up. So I took it out and examined it and found out why it's making the popping noise.

The cone that attaches to the spider has come apart almost 3/4 of the way around it. Thats the first time I have had a sub to do that. The speaker is not blown though. The voice coils are still reading 4 ohms on my meter.

Im going to ship it out for repair on monday. It made one year but not three years. But if you can play your subs loud for a year without any problems your doing pretty good.

That would kind of make me upset. I've had old Kickers that I played loud for many years with no issues.

That may be the first complaint of a defective 2nd generation Momo sub we've had on here. Thats a pretty good track record I would think.

Ive had 4 different types of Polk speakers and never had a problem.

After I took a closer look at. It seems as if the spider might be split close to where the cone attaches to the spider. But either way it's not staying attached to the spider when I move the cone back and forth.

You have to remember that Cam cranks his system all the way up even when the speakers are cold with "no issues so far"... :D
