What online retailers have people purchased TVs from and had good/bad expierences from? I am looking at Crutchfield because they have never failed me with delivery or issue and returns. But they are rather at the top of the price range. I am looking to purchase the Sharp LC-45GD7U and see ranges from $3,229  + Shipping to $4,999  shipping included. Just curious about others experiences.

I guess it's just me but I don't have the stones to buy a large screen TV over the 'net. Somethings should just be bought via "brick & morter".

I agree. I am a little nervous about it. I bought my Sharp Aquous 32" from Circuit City and received an additional $350 off when they priced matched it 23 days later. The only issue is that I have not found many to sell the Sharp Aquos 45" at brick and morter. That is why I was seeking experiences.

I think you answered your own question. If you are familiar with Crutchfield, go for it.

ALl I ask is to learn from my mistake. I found my Toshiba online with a great shipping charge ($7.99 for ground). I said looks good. When it was delivered, they left it in my drive way. Would not carry it up the stairs to my doorway let alone bring it in the house. I ended up dragging it to a safe area and covered it with a tarp until I could find someone to help me carry it in the house and down to my basement. I was scared sh**less since they were calling for rain. Thankfully it was elevated on a pallet and it only misted not a hard driving rain.

Lessons learned. Ask in great detail about shipping and explain where you would like it delivered to. I will now pay the extra for in-house delivery.

I say get the tv from an actual store. Most big stores will price match the tv with any lower price (online stores included in the matching). Read up on the policies of the stores you prefer to buy from and see if they'll price match an online store so you can scoop the best price, while keeping things worry free.

    I bought my Panny here.

The current price for your unit is 3550. Reasonable professional Shipping out of NY.

I rate the performace of companies by their handling of bad situations. My Panny arrinved at my house with a scratch on the screen, after I signed saying it was OK. I called Plasmahouse, and within three hours, I had a tracking number for the new unit on the way. They picked up the damaged unit when the new one came. Absoulutely no problem. So, it took 10 days to deliver two plasmas. I'm told damage in shipping is fairly rare, and it's all insured so the "store" doesn't give you a hard time.

I'm very happy with my purchase from them, even though I had to wait for a new unit.
Bottom line savings: $900.oo any brick and mortar store in my area -Boston.
