In-Wall Subwoofer Cable??????

I am finishing off my basement and wiring outlets for 6.1 sound. What should I use for cable in the wall from the Receiver to the outlet? I have about a 25' run I will need to make. I have a 30' Monster Cable subwoofer interconnect. Should I use that to go to the outlet and then get a shorter subwoofer cable to go from the outlet to the sub? Is there a more appropriate cable for that long of a run in the wall to an outlet? RG6??

You would need to put an outlet at both ends of the cable, which means you would end up with 3 cables and 4 extra connectors.

I use a blank wall plate, drill a hole in the center, and add a rubber gromet for both speaker wires and sub cable. That way I avoid all the extra connections.

Good idea. I need to measure, but think that I need around 25'. Should I try to avoid going over 30'? If it is over 30', what could I use for cables?

I used RG6 in wall to F type wall plates for my sub. RCA to F-Type adapters allowed me to use a 3' and 6' foot length of composite video cable (RCA-RCA) to connect the sub/AVR to the wall jacks. The sub works great. A couple of forum members have heard it in action.

The adapters are around $2 each. Either way suggested so far will work for you.

EDIT: I'm no pro installer so I don't know the max cable length you can use for a sub. I wouldn't think 30 feet would hurt you.

Great. Thank you for the picture and the idea. I think that I can even get an RCA to F connector for the wallplate and aavoid the extra connection.
