Hi,

I bought monitor 30 for BACK speakers (i have monitor 50 as front, psw10 and cs1). I see that you consider them as "front"...?
Should i replace them with your "Surround" series speakers?

Benzi, welcome to club Polk. stick around. and you'll learn a lot.

there aren't any rules per se as to what speakers you use as fronts or surround.. although true surround.. wouldn't work very well as fronts. some people choose to have smaller surrounds then they do fronts. There is nothing wrong with having monitor 30's for surround. if that's what you like and have the room/placement for them.. it's fine.

Some people like to have bi/di pole speakers for surround.. that's me.. i like the diffused sound that bi pole speakers give for surround. but not everyone wants or likes it. to each his own.

So nothing wrong with using the Monitor 30's as rear speakers.

    enjoy

I use the Monitor 30s for my SRB speakers in a otherwise all RTi setup, and I have had great results. The 30s are much smaller than the other speakers in the setup, and they do not need to be 'full size', I have most of the base going to the sub in the LFE. In short, the 30s are a fine choice.

monitor 30's would do very well for back speakers. I've heard them and don't sound too bad, even for 2ch.
