I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I tried just the word no, but 4 letters in the minimum. :D

Seriously, I think his views are many times right on the mark, but the totally cynical delivery is elitest and smug.

I second the new rules part, its usually great.

As far as his views, sometimes i agree, sometimes i dont... about 70/30

I like his bluntness and sense of humor but he can be kinda smug sometimes. I like Dennis Miller a lot better.

I think Adam Carolla is also underrated, not a lot of political commentary... But great common sense rants that I usually agree with 95%+ percent of the time. Im a huge fan of his.

Other than his monologues, I've enjoyed Maher since the original "Politically Incorrect" on Comedy Central. The guy has no delivery. His stand up routine is just painful.

While this HBO rendition is good, I still like the original best, especially during the political conventions. The "Strange Bedfellows" segment with Al Frankin and Ariana Huffington in bed together in the middle of the audience, just killed me... especially the one where Barney Frank showed up between them.
    More later,

I can't stand him. I'd watch a monkey scratchin' his **** on Animal Planet before I'd watch 2 seconds of him.

    Bill Maher wrote:
The firestorm of complaints erupted just five days after the Sept. 11 attacks on America, when Maher suggested some previous U.S. military actions had been "cowardly." The TV veteran was contrasting American efforts to those taken by suicide hijackers who piloted passenger jets into the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

"We have been the cowards, lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away,'' Maher said. "That's cowardly. Staying in the airplane when it hits the building – say what you want about it, it's not cowardly.''

Umm, yeah. I have no use for this guy.

He's hilarious...really like his stand up too. I think his latest stand up routine is called "I'm Swiss", which is really funny...saw it on HBO a few weeks ago.

What passes for politics in our fair land is so patently laughable, who needs a middleman? :p
