If you are new to our beloved forum and/or hobby, first, welcome! I sincerely hope that you enjoy both.

Now, I'd like to offer some advice to make your stay here a little easier so I'm going to go over a few different issues that you may have.

Q: I have a pair of XXXX speakers and I'm thinking about upgrading. Should I?

A: WAAAY too many variables to make a comment. Budget? Gear? Listening tastes? If you seek an opinion, please, give as many specifics. Me? If you are going to upgrade, ****, go for a set if Wilson's or some such.

Next:
Q: I just purchased a pair of **** speakers. Who can tell me about them.

A: C'mon. this is a Polk forum. We talk a LOT about Polk speakers. Chances are, there is a BUTLOAD of info on them (with the exception of maybe the Model 9's) there for the searching. It's not really fair to expect us to respond in detail if you aren't willing to do a little homework yourself.

Next example:
Q: What amp/receiver/source should I buy that will match my speakers
A: See above; guarantee that there are a million different opinions

Hopefully, you get the point. See, redundancy is a big issue for me. I'm the first on that would love to help but if you want help, try helping yourself first. Lastly, this is like any other social situation. There is an established culture here, not unlike anyplace else. To get along, you've got to go along for awhile. New folks are more than welcome when courtesy and respect are extended. While a close friend can needle me and insult me in good fun, someone I don't know doesn't have that luxury at without expecting me to respond in kind.

I've just tried to touch on a few issues, hopefully it makes sense.

    This is too simple:
    A: Yes, to XXXXX speakers.

A: All the owners of **** speakers.
    See? Not a problem.

    A: The right ones.
    It's that easy. :p:D:D

On a more seriuos note, well put Troy and we feel your pain.

I have a feeling about this though and maybe it's that some newcomers feel the need to break the ice with the Forum and they don't where to start so.....
You've given some ideas on where to start. :)
