Saw this movie last night. Great cast. Had some interesting moments. Not the best film out there, but an interesting one. One of the those independent movies with a decent budget about a bunch of screwed up people living fake lives, but somehow it all works out in the end. What I was particularly impressed by was James Horner's score. He doesn't work that much anymore (tear), and what he usually comes out with is heavily rehashed from his earlier scores. Not only does he not borrow, from what I could tell, a single motif from his earlier scores, but I couldn't even tell it was him for sure until I saw the credits. There were a few cues that I thought it might be Horner, but the rest of the score was like Horner channelling Danny Elfman, which is kind of a trip. Anyway, thought I'd share that. Amidst all the big event movies, this one was kind of an odd, but refreshing little movie.
