After reading how vital is is to listening, I have decided to try to calibrate my rig. If anyone has a new or used Radio Shack Sound Meter laying around that they are willing to sell, I'd appreciate it. Analog or digital is fine, but I'd prefer digital. Thanks for any help that you guys can give.

NOW he can get the more accurate analog meter.. -
Hmm, I'm gonna have to find me an arm like that. Looks like a very convenient way to store glasses...maybe even a good place to hang jackets, too!George Grand wrote: »

I'm definitely interested in the analog meter. Let me know how much you're asking. I am interested in the disc as well. I don't need pictures; your word that it works as it should is good enough for me. Thanks for the reply.

Just remember guys, these meter readings are not cut in stone. Get the calibrations close and let your ears be the bottom line.suds, suds and more suds!

Joe,
The AVIA disc is pretty self explanatory. They pretty much tell you how to do everything, including how to use the spl meter.
Enjoy it and share it with your friends.

Do a search for SPL or Calibration and you'll find quite a bit on the subject. This link might help too...

use your ears... i had both the Avia and the RS Spl meter and ended up NOT using either. My system sounds sweet and all it took my my own ears and a little patience and speaker placementPioneer SC-37
