I am coming back to stereo equipment after 20 years. My last system was a Sansui 901 integrated amp, Polk SDA's and a high end Technics Turntable (it died) in 1985. I just put together a two channel system consisting of a Onkyo 8511 Amp (2 channel 100 watt), two monitor 60's, a PSW10 (got it free from Crutchfield), a low end Denon Turntable and a Onkyo 6 disc DVD/CD player. The DVD/CD is on back order. I have been listening to my old records for the past few days and have hooked up my iPod and listened to that as well. I also will hook up my HDTV to the receiver. I know it's not a real home theater, but for me it's a real jump. I really like how it sounds and for the price (1100 and change) I feel it was in my budget. Just wanted some comments on this set up. Any suggestions of I could enhance the system. I still have the Sansui. Should I use this amp vice the 8511? Thanks for any comments.

Try out the Sansui and let us know how it compares.

Welcome Bob.
What kind of SDA's are you running? I can't imagine the PSW10 doing any real good in 2 channel with any SDA... Just my opinion.

A bit of confusion, sorry I was not clear. I had SDA's in the past, but have sold them. I now have new monitor 60's running off my new Onkyo 8511. A suggestion is that I try using my Pioneer Intragrated 901 to see if it made a difference. I may do that, but right now I am ok with the 8511 I just wanted to know what folks thought of my current set up and how I may improve it in the future. Thanks.Polk Monitor 60's
