Hi
If I want to hear CD music which amp do I have to buy, a 2 channel amp or a 5.1 amp (home theatre)??? Maybe the answer is 2 channel amp, but why? I hear some 5.1 amps playing CD music in 2 channels and I hear it very nice
Best regards,
Bernardo

Either is good. If you wanted to get as good as it gets, then two channel is nice because more of the cost has gone into the two channels.

In my experience, I've found Home theater receivers to be greatly lacking in the 2-channel music reproduction department. It depends on your listening habits however. Do you sit in the sweet spot and critically disect what you are hearing and get annoyed at the imperfections you hear or do you turn music on for background listening. Or, are you not into critical listening? If not the HT receiver is probably perfectly fine. If you are then a good 2-channel system is a must. I found (through much experimentation) that tubes and 'mellow' speakers gave the sound I was looking for in CD playback.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. I agree. I'd also like to add that if you're only interested in 2ch CD playback, use a 2ch amp. Don't pay for extra amp sections you won't need. -
Maybe for receiver, but for amps, a 5 ch can be very economical approach to bi-amping.More later,

agree with tour. just make sure it's a musical amp to begin with.
oh and just as important as the amp is the source. -
I get the feeling he meant 'receiver'.2 channel - Willsenton R8 tube integrated, Holo Audio Spring 3 KTE DAC, audio optimized NUC7i5, Windows 10 Pro/JRiver MC29/Fidelizer Plus 8.7 w/LPS and external SSD drive, PS Audio PerfectWave P3 regenerator, KEF R3 speakers, Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, Audioquest Diamond USB cable, Gabriel Gold IC's, Morrow Audio SP5 speaker cables. you may be right.
Bernardo start with Harman Kardon, Marantz & Denon for multi-channel.
If you want a straight 2ch. receiver look no further than this.
