My budget is $800-$850 I can get the Lsi9's for $600 which would leave me enough to buy a denon 386s its a $400 receiever...I can get it for less than 300 since I work at Fry's. The sales people at fry's do not like the Lsi series, but I take your guys opinions over any salesman.

My other option would be to get the rti8's and the h/k 240 that'll be $800 total for that and a little under 900 for the Lsi9/denon receiver.

I know the lsi's require alot of power, but I plan to buy separate amplication when I get more money. How much would it cost to get a good amp to power the lsi's, and are they better than the rti8's?
Setup:

2 Channel: Vienna Acoustics Mozart Grand, T+A P 1230R, Primare SPA21, Oppo BDP-105
PC: Vienna Acoustics Haydn Grand, Cambridge Azure 650A v2 , Peachtree iDAC, Denon DVD-3800BDCI

If you work at Fry's.....can't you audition them to see which you like better?

Also, is this going to be a 2 channel only or are you planning to add more speakers??

No doubt the LSi9 is a much better speaker than the RTi8.

If you are going for music gear go with Lsi9’s. For HT I would go with Rti8’s. I find Rti8’s on the bright side for music gear, but love them for HT.

IMO go with Lsi9’s, if you don’t like them later you can pass them on to us in the forum.

If you can audition both in your home environment. Your ear is your best friend.

Had the 8's loved em, till I had 9's that is. You can get a HK635 refurbed for around 500 that would be able to drive em till you want to upgrade. I haven't found it necessary yet, but I will in the next 6-8 months. If you plan on using the Denon, you should keep a fire extinguisher handy. ie: don't. HK is probably the least expensive Amp/receiver I would use with the 9's
