Hi all, been out of the audio loop for a long time. Finally bought a house and looking to set up a Home Theater System. I have an old stereo system (1992! Panasonic) that has served me well, but it is time to move on. I'm looking to spend in the $1000 range for Receiver and Speaker setup, and after much research, have narrowed it down. I would just like to get some opinions from some more knowledgable people to see if this setup will work in my living room.

I've selected the Onkyo 603x as the receiver and the Polk RM10s for the speakers. I was looking at the RM6800s, but they only come in titanium, and I'm wanting to stay with black/dark since my 32' TV and the rest of my updated equipment is black.

My living room is 19'x13' with the couch on the back 13' wall and entertainment center on the front one. Does this setup sound sufficient for this room size? Don't really know what else to ask, so any opinions would help. Thanks.

The main reasons are cost and the look I guess. I have 2 36" towers now, outdated. Looking for a cleaner look but don't want to sacrifice sound. Was looking to put the 2 fronts and center in the entertainment center. In addition to movies I listen to music and concert DVDs also, and after reading some reviews, people said they were happy with the performance of both movies and music on the RMs. Maybe I can get some different info here. Wouldn't mind 2 more towers (like the Monitor towers) and then add the center, rear surrounds and sub, but I think I would be going way out of my price range doing that.

I would like to stay away from used, I'm the type of person that likes to start with new because you never know how hard people run some equipment. Just peace of mind.

I am also considering the RM20 set for the extra mids in the front L/R and the larger sub. From other threads I've looked at, I guess the RM is not the most popular.
