I phoned him just a half hour ago...he's not home, son answered. What do you think of the price, I'm thinking of getting them. I won't have to do the "road warrior" thing since he's only a half hour drive away.

Btw...I bought this mixer on e-bay... 7379258188 I'm not sure "why" I bought it, because I don't really need it. But perhaps it's because I had a similar one back in the 80's when I was doing the mobile disco thing. I think I'm having a mid-life crisis.

I cannot comment on the price, I will leave that to the experts. It is his "asking price" so put your salesman hat on and start negotiating. Good luck.

The ad is wrong, the 2.3TL's have a 15" PR, not a 12".

    Metric problem? ;)

It always seems to work out like this. You get your shorts all tied up waiting for a pair to show up, you go on a road trip, then shortly afterwards a similar pair shows up around the corner.

As far as the price goes, it's within reason if they are mint. If that is $1500 Canadian, even better. 2.3's have a wide price range, make an offer and see if he bites.

Not 2.3's, they are 2.3TL's. Very different speakers.

Different in what way?? Is the "TL" preferred over the non-TL? I'm getting real real close to making a decision to buy them. I just need that extra little "push" because the WAF is being shot down the tube because I've gotten out of hand lately.

Ok, I DID IT....I called the guy and told him that I'll take them. It will be a "mini" Road Warrior thing since the speakers are in Cornwall (close to 3 hour drive one-way).

And Ricardo....if I get a divorce I'm blaming it on you!

Only 3 hours  , hell just last week my buddy and I flew from Orange County to Birmingham, Alabama. Rented a Mini-Van, and brought back some 1.2TL's from a guy in Georgia, who was kind enough to drive them from his home to the Hotel. 32 hour trip :p

3 hours is LA to San Diego....I have had hiccups longer than that.

BTW - Congrats on the 2.3's..

Joe - This pair wasn't for me. I was riding shotgun, I have my own pair of 1.2's that another member actual brought me down from the Bay Area. Funny thing is that everyone that has come to my house to listen, has wanted a pair for themselves. So far this is the 4th set of SDA's in the past 6 months that have been purchased by friends, this particular adventure is the first TL's to be had.

Sooner or later all the SRS's will be in N. County San Diego :D ..

I am heading up to his house this weekend, he is hooking up a sunfire 600 to them and I am really looking forward to listening to the TL's as I haven't yet got to audition a set yet.

I can't imagine that they will be much different than my 1.2's w/ silk tweets, but we'll see.

As soon as he gets his whole system in place, I'll post pix..

Try and get a CSi40, this speaker is a nice center match for my 2.3's. This speaker shows up a lot on eBay.

Yes! In fact if you search the Polk website, the CSi40 is the recommended center for the SRS series. I can't remember where I found that.

    Here it is: http://www.polkaudio.com/education/faq.php?article=centermatch

The CSi5 is the newer model and replacement for the CSi40. CSi5's are nice if you need a little tilt up/dowm for your center placement.
