I'm thinking of selling my Polk Audio model 10 vintage speakers. I bought them in I believe 1970 for $600.00 I have pics and they are on stands although they do not have the mesh covers. Any idea what their worth? Everything works and they still sound great.

Thanks
Hank

    Welcome to the Club...

I presume you mean Monitor 10's, yes?

Original Polk Audio stands are a plus, but value depends on cabinet condition and which Mon 10 model they are. Without that info I'd say $60 to $140.

Post a pic if you can.

Considering he purchased them in the 70's (certainly not _the_ 1970), and describes them as the "Model 10", they're probably originals with the SL1000 or Peerless tweeter. Possibly even with uncoated paper drivers :o

Model 10 with peerless tweets. Too bad no covers. Where are you located? Welcome to the forum. When you decide on a price post it in flea market. Good luck.

Monitor series are very hard to peg a price on... very wide range.

If the cabinets are as good as they look, I'd say $120-ish. If the buyer is into Polk Audio history, would go a bit higher.

Ditto if buyer was local, i.e., no shipping cost involved.

i have a set of these speakers too, just retired them this week. bought them in like 1979. lost the stands and the tweeters have been replaced as have the crossovers and the mids and passive bass in one of them. they still sounded great and were only replaced because my wife thought they were pretty ugly anymore. replaced them with a set of monitor 70's, cause, well after a lot of research they were great speakers plus, i love polks.
