Looking for a new system

My wife wants a new system upstairs. I was using my old JVC receiver (it was an OLD surround system [just front & back]), and a couple of pinnicles I had (but she blew one). What she is looking for is something that is really small, plays CDs, has a radio and has some volume. She just brought home something from Sharper Image and I told her to take it back (I don't want crap).

I'm only looking to spend a couple of hundred, and may consider using the JVC and a CD player (or an old pioner 5.1 I have down stairs). If anyone has any sugestions on something that can be tucked out of the way, or a decent pair of small bookshelves, please let me know.

    Pablo,
My wife wants the same thing. I have a dedicated sound room downstairs and she wants something small that she could hear in the kitchen & the livingroom. I would like to wait for the release of the I-Sonic™ Entertainment System from Polk. It is small and provides the ability for radio & CD's, so this may be the trick for us. It is supposed to be released this year during Q1. Take a look on the Polk Home page.
