Crossover for Monitor 60s?
Anyone have a suggestion for a good crossover setting to set my sub at? I am running Polk Monitor 60s with a Mirage S-10 sub. The speakers will be run full, as I am not using an AV receiver, but 2 channel Parasound Halo seperates.
Overall Frequency Response 38Hz - 25kHz
Lower -3dB Limit 48Hz
Upper -3dB Limit 24kHz
Would I set the crossover slightly higher then the lower limit, lower, the same??

I'd start at 60 cycles and work from there.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

You just have to adjust it by ear. Sit in your primary listening position and have someone else make the adjustment while you listen. Stop when it sounds best.
In-room response of those Mon 60's will vary considerably depending on where they're placed. I wouldn't expect to get much usable output below 50 Hz, however. In my experience, the lowest setting on the sub that doesn't leave an audible "hole" in the bass response is the best setting.

These speakers are replacing some RT 400s. What a difference in bass, The RT400s did not even need a sub! I can't believe the bass those speakers put out. Were they known for this? The moniors 60 I find definitely are lacking the the low end!

Let them break in, I noticed a substantial difference on my pair around 70 hours.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

Yeah. They only have around 4 hours on them, but they still will never have the bass of the RT400, which I don't want. THose could get bet a bit boomy, and have to be well away from the rear walls.
