I have a Denon AVR-3806, and it absolutley rocks. I looked at the H/K stuff when I was out looking for an upgrade. There is not a day that goes by when I heat that bad boy up that I don't say to myself "Damn that's a NICE receiver". H/K stuff is nice don't get me wrong all about personal taste here. But I thought the Denon line sounded a little warmer to me, I LOVE mine. I've known a lot of poeple who've bought into the Denon thing, all of them have been happy with it.
Denon equipment is a great value I think...Rockin' In My House

Either one should be just fine, we feel the best receivers that offer great performance, as well as features come from H/K, Denon and Onkyo. There are others but they tend to be more expensive.-Eric
