I went to go see this with my girlfriend and ended up leaving before I bought tickets. Apparently there is a new rule about buying tickets. You have to be 21 to buy more then one ticket and since she isn't 17 I couldn't go with her to see it. Apparently being 18 offers alot less rights then it used to. I can't even buy my girlfriend a ticket to the movies anymore. Of course if there's a serious war, I've had my draft card since a few days after my birthday. I guess buying movie tickets holds more reponsibility then handling weapons and such.

There's also a policy like this at the mall. When I go to the mall on Friday and Saturday, I get ID'd at the door to verify that I'm 18, because no one under 18 is allowed in. I also can't bring my girlfriend with me because she isn't 18 and I need to be 21 to have someone with me. Even if I'm 21 I can only have four other minors with me. If you are a parent with 5 kids, sucks for you.

I don't know who to be mad at but this is getting alittle out of hand. I can't wait to see where the next restriction pops up next. Good thing I got my license before they up that to 18.

What a bunch of ridiculous BS.

That is ****. Some of these rules are getting out of hand, and I hope some of these businesses figure it out as they start to lose money. I can't believe you have to be 18 to go to the freakin' mall. That used to be THE ideal hangout place. Would they rather have the kids hanging out in back alleys buying drugs or what?

Wait, the movies at the mall, or to just get into the mall itself?

You were wanting to buy a ticket for someone who wasn't 17 so she could get into a movie that you must be 17 to get into? It seems like the policy did exactly what it was intended to do...Keep someone under 17 out unless accompanied by an adult (someone 21 or older). I have NO PROBLEM with that policy.

And while the policy on the mall is probably overboard....do you think there might just have been a problem with a bunch of teenage kids hanging around this particular mall NOT buying anything, doing a few drugs, getting into fights, and in general making it a place no adult with intentions of BUYING something wants to go?

No the mall and the movies are completely seperate places. Just the same age policy crap. The theater is in Fishkill NY and the mall is in Poughkeepsie.

And shack, since when did 21 make you an adult? I thought it was 18. Guess I shouldn't vote until I'm 21. The policy is crap. If I'm 19 and she's 17 I still can't take her to the movies, she will have to buy her own ticket.

Since the laws were enacted. Can you drink legally? 18-21 depending on the particular law/state/purpose etc....

    Probably a good idea.

I hope she can survive the trauma.

Just watch Assmasters #17 in the comfort of your own home...she'll be far more traumatized by that than some silly horror movie.

Well whatever, I'm not trying to change your opinion. I'm just stating mine. The policy is an annoyance to me and I don't like it. While it's really no big deal to pull my wallet out every time I come out of a store in the mall, it does get annoying after a while and it alittle degrading. I guess my only option is to go somewhere else. Hopefully their revenue will be noticeably effected and they will be forced to change their minds.

Can I borrow the copy of Assmasters?

Yes, but the scene was cut because of an "accident".

Airplay - :D I'm looking forward to Hostel.

I recall my Mom taking me to see Andy Warhol's Frankenstein....and when the young doctor started to have sex with a corpse, I was led briskly away from the movie theatre. I thought it was cool, but it probably scarred me for life, but that's ok....I did far to many other things in later life to worry about a movie.

What kinda mom would take their kid to an Andy Warhol movie? Didn't he make a movie early in his career called ****? Where some dude is filmed getting a ****.

I guess... some people consider it art maybe?

My Mom was pretty liberal, and from the Woodstock generation....figured it might do something for me....and it was in fact marketed alot differently than it was shown, before the ratings days.

She still regrets taking me there but aside from me wanting to have sex with dead ppl, I think I'm ok since then.

Im all for the mall policy. We have a huge mall here in Tennessee that my wife works ar and every weekend it would be overrun with teenieboppers just hanging out. Most werent buying anything, just hanging out getting in the way. And of course when you get enough punks in one location you start having fights and brawls.

I was a mall cop for about 3 years and it got really old breaking up a crowd of teenieboppers just standing in the middle of the aisle looking cool only to have to break up the exact same group 20 feet down the road. And of course you have to break up at least 3 brawls a night too.

Since this mall went to the age policy (which states that if youre under 18 you have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to be in the mall Friday and Saturday after 5 pm) not only has the brawls, vandalism and hassle decreased but business has increased! Now the other mall in town that did not adopt this policy has become the new hangout. So business has dropped, fights and vandalism has increased.

One thing you have to understand, a mall is private property. You dont have a right to be at a mall. It would be no different if you decided to not allow salesmen to come to your house. Its private property.

And as for the movie thing, like Shack said, it kept you from buying a ticket for someone underage to see a movie. It did exactly what it was supposed to. You dont have a right to buy a ticket in this country either.

I know it's not my right, but it is alittle annoying for me. I'm not going to the mall to hang out, I'm going to buy things. I understand its a pain in the **** because kids do stupid crap. I just hate that I have to be effected because there's a bunch of asses out there that need to feel cool and go somewhere public to start a fight. I'm not the one starting fights, or causing any trouble.

I understand the ticket thing as well, but I don't understand why they picked 21. Why does it matter if she goes with me or if she goes with someone who is 21? Thank you for a nicer response then other people.

I bet you were one scary mall cop. I wouldn't start a fight in that mall :)

Yeah, it is a pain in the **** and it sucks you have to pay for others stupidity. But I cant really say too much cause I was a little punk when I was a teenager too.

And as far as my career as a mall cop, I took that job for one reason, NO MANUAL LABOR! I wasnt out to prove how bad **** I was, I was out to do as little as possible. I would be the one asleep in a corridor while people were getting mugged! :D

Plus, that was 10 years ago. I was only about 200-205 then.....and not quite as fat as I am now.
