Never seen the movie but I love the album/cd. It’s at the top of my Netflix rental list.

If you don't have any of these you might consider:

Sam Peckinpah's Legendary Westerns Collection (The Wild Bunch / Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid / Ride the High Country / The Ballad of Cable Hogue)

    $42 at Amazon.

That's the route I'm going with these classics. Quite often a DVD set will have a dud thrown in, but all four of these movies are excellent with two(?) of them not available on DVD before.

Westerns are some of my favorite movies that aren't made much anymore.

I might have to pick up Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid come Jan. 10th!

A few weeks ago I picked up Tombstone. Got the special edition version.

WOW, what a great movie. Val Kilmer rocked! What a great performance!

I hear the movie is a little corny, but it does have some of the best music Dylan ever did (IMHO).

I heard an interview in which James Coburn was talking about the making of the movie.
He said as the filming went along, Sam Peckinpaw got so attached to the character of Billy the Kid, that he didn't want to kill him.
He said, "what if we don't kill him?" To which Coburn and others said,
    "Sam, you can't rewrite history",
to which Peckipaw replied, "why not?"

    *spoiler for those historically challenged*

In the end, he killed Billy off, but begrudingly.

And yes, some great music....."Knocking on Heavens door"
    is a classic.

I only wanted Wild Bunch and Pat Garrett but at twenty bucks a piece and the set is only 40 some bucks it was a no brainer to get the whole set. I can just trade in the other two in the set I have no interest in them

Don't discount other two in the set. They are very good movies. Both are better than "Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid" IMO.

not discounting them..seen them before and didnt care for them..
I really like Pat Garrett..ic an see why some wouldnt as its really pretty slow moving for a western but again I dont think Peckinpah was trying to make another Wild Bunch
