PS2 S-Video hookup

Just purchased a PS2 S-video cable for my kids 3 year old JVC 36" TV.
The JVC has either a front INPUT-2 panel (red/white/yellow) OR a Red/white/S-video INPUT-1 in the back. The front hookup works just fine except for all the wires hanging out of the cabinet. When I try using the back S-video hookup all I get is a Blue screen. I cannot see anyway of changing between Video-1 and Video-2. I thought about plugging into the Kenwood AVR to utilize the S-video upgrade. Will this work?

i think i can answer this b/c i prob. have your exact TV. The 36" D-Series. Go into the main menu and make sure that you turn OFF the Component Video. It's set to ON from the factory and overrides the S-Video. (IF you have the D-Series, which has the Component Video)

if it's the basic model w/out component- go into the menu and turn ON S-Video- it might be set to OFF from the factory so the composite video works right out of the box.

If that fails- then it might just be that you're not selecting the right input. The INPUT selector button is at the top right of the remote, just below the power button.

    Andrew,
I think you are correct. I just turned the component ON this morning so I could use component from DVD to TV. It finally works great! I did that so I could free up the S-Video input to use w/ the PS2. My JVC is the AV-36320 so I guess it is one or the other but not both. That is why I thought using my AV amp might be another solution. I'm still tinkering.
