I have a pair of LS90 I bought while stationed in England. I really like the speakers and was wondering if there is anyway to modifiy the speakers so they dont try to go so low on the bass? I am going to add a nice subwoofer to my setup. I have the Adcom 555 pushing the polks. I am not the most technical person confused, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Rick

I say just use the crossover on the sub to cut the bass to the 90's. trial and error to find the crossover point you like best.

if you have a Sub that doesnt have a crossover, perhaps the Outlaw ICBM would be your cup of tea.

both are far easier (and less dangerous to the not technically advanced) than modifying the crossover on the speaker itself.

Hi Rick and welcome to the Forums.

You just received what is probably going to be the best advice you could get. You haven't purchased a sub yet so get one with variable crossover ability. Control the amount of low end that the 90s have to handle from there. You don't want to start messing around modifying the 90's crossovers.

Hey, thanks guys for the advice. I will definitely be shopping for a sub that has a variable crossover. Any suggestions for a good sub that isnt rediculously high priced?

    SVS, HSU, Velodyne, etc....

Do a search on this fourm. There are lots of threads about subs in all price ranges.

generally speaking, lots pf people say SVS better for theater but HSU better for music. I've heard both work in both capacities and say SVS is better for theater and HSU is a LITTLE better for music, but thats just my preference. you will not go wrong either way with them for performance and bang for the buck. I've heard Velodyne's a couple of times and they perform very well too.

you asked about modifying the crossover on the 90's which leads me to believe you like to tinker a bit. with this in mind, do a search of DIY subwoofers (i.e. building one yourself). Thats what I did, and if I could do it, I'd say near anyone could.
