Pretty amazing light bulbs

I found these at Lowe's and bought a pack because of the price. These 13 watt bulbs are usually at least $5 each and I got a pack of 6 for $9.97.

They are supposed to put out 60 watts and last 8 years but when I got them home, they seem to put out more like 100 watts.

Good luck with those off brands, they fail an awful lot. The Sylvania, GE, and Phillips bulbs cost a couple bucks more for good reason. The reason is they keep working the full 8,000 hours.

I think it's my house's crappy / unstable electricity but those bulbs blow just as fast as the regular incandescent ones. They do use less electricity, which is cool.

for me they've given off a lot less yellow and more white...not sure if they are suppose to but really brighten up everything...sometimes a little too much

They do tend to be more white than an incandescent bulb. Sometimes they'll make something you recognize look far different because it won't have that warm yellow look to them. It's preference I guess. Some people like the warm analog tt sound while others like the digital sound...

The bulbs are available in both "Soft White" and "Daylight" (Da-Lite sometimes). The Daylight are the white light, Soft White has that warm yellow glow.

I've tried a couple of different brands and they don't last any longer than regular light bulbs in my house.

We use them in all possible fixture. I just don't like the fact you can't use them on dimmers.

Tube Depot! They aren't cheap, but on a dimmer they look too cool.

I put one of the GE 100 watt equivalent bulbs in the outdoor fixture above my front door back in June. At only 20 watts power consumption, I just leave it on all the time. It's still working. :)

I use them everywhere else they'll fit now too.

In our City, well our Suburb, there is a programm called Project porch light, where we received a coupon for a free one. Hey it helped us get our last one for free. If it saves cash and the environment..

all of mine have lasted for a few years so far. I also replaced all of them in the house.

The only ones that aren't replaced are the ones where I use for reading or unferquented areas.
