And for a clue, here's the lyrics to one of the songs:

    ..... the .... .........
Is hanging his bloom in dismay
If they had just kept him wetta
    He'd be a houseplant today
Folks liked the other plants betta
Now he's alone on the shelf
Even a plant with no uncle or aunt
Shouldn't spend Christmas Day by himself

Holiday shoppers would stop by the counter
And pick up a plant to take home
Until one by one all his friends were adopted
And ..... was left all alone

    ..... the .... .........
Is hanging his bloom in dismay
If they had just kept him wetta
    He'd be a houseplant today
Folks liked the other plants betta
Now he's alone on the shelf
Even a plant with no uncle or aunt
Shouldn't spend Christmas Day by himself

Then into the store on the night before Christmas
Came a poor little girl who was cryin'
But when she saw ..... her eyes opened wide
And she said "Can I please make him mine?"

    Now ..... the .... .........
    Is standing beside Mr. Tree
His leaves have never been redda,
He's as proud as a flower can be

    Somebody made him feel betta,
Rescued him off of the shelf
Even a plant with no uncle or aunt
Shouldn't spend Christmas Day by himself

The first one is Michael Doucet's "Christmas Bayou", the hint is his "Le Hoogie Boogie: Louisiana French Music for Children". Michael is a national treasure in my book but, then, I dig cajun music.

You are probably the only person on this forum that has even heard of Michael Doucet or those two albums....much less seen them.

If you'd be so kind, my boy Blue...
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Their biggest Top 40 hit, from their second album, was about a gory airplane crash.

This could be Don McLean - American Pie...but of course it isn't.

    Looks familiar...but I've got nothin'.

The mystery album, released in 2000, actually contains most of two previous albums plus a new set. Their first album was released 30 years earlier and has an instantly recognizable cover to rock fans.

    Bloodrock - Triptych

The clue helped "a little"... Did not even know these guys were still alive.

The second LP was Bloodrock 2.... which was preceded by Bloodrock and followed by Bloodrock 3 (really original...).

The song was "D.O.A."... a roomate had it...

I'll get the next one up in a bit...
    More later,
    Tour...

Gee, I never would have guessed. I have the Bloodrock 2 LP as well as this one...

I thought DOA was about a car crash. Bloodrock wasn't something you listened to the words anyway (even if you were in any conditition to understand them).
