Joe (paraski) was here after being on the road since midnight Sunday.....really nice guy..I'm glad he came...my wife says I'm crazy for driving 10 hours both ways to get some speakers...he is a living proof I'm not that crazy
We listened a little to his newly acquired SRS's, and he went to get some sleep; he'll be back tomorrow morning; we'll load them on his truck and he'll head back.
Nice meeting another polkie...good people on this forum.

Tell the wife you and Joe aren't the only crazies. I dragged Doro along for a 17 hour round trip speaker pick up......hehe.Political Correctness'.........defined

Joe just left with his SRS's and new tweeters. He should be reporting back sometime tomorrow (wow...really a road warrior).
We could not fit both speakers on their backs in the Pathfinder, so one had to go on its side. I think I heard there's higher chance of damaging the drivers that way, but we put enough cushion material/foam as to make it a smooth ride; I just hope they arrive ok..
As mentioned before, Joe is a really nice guy (though he made a big mistake by handing the cash to MY WIFE...luckily I was close enough to take it before she had a chance to say anything )_________________________________________________

It's now 2 a.m. and the SRS's are sitting comfortably in the garage. It wasn't a 12 hour one-way deal, it was more like 15 hours. The trip going there was even longer due to bad road conditions in Quebec. I first made a stop in Cleveland, then I dropped off my daughter in PA then I went to Ricardo's place near Cincinnati. By the time I had done all my stops and reached Ricardo's place, I had been on the road for 23 hours.
The 2 audio racks that I went to pick up in Cleveland could not be dismantled. Only one would fit in my truck....that one I unloaded at my friends' place in PA before going to Ricardo's. The guy will give me a credit for the other on.
I also brought back an SAE 2400 amplifer and a Carver surround sound processor. The border was no problem at all. Anyway.....I'm going to get some sleep now, I need to get up in a few hours.Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. Sources: Sony BDP CX7000es, Sony CX300/CX400/CX450/CX455, SAE 8000 tuner, Akai 4000D R2R, Technics 1100A TT, Epson 8500UB with Carada 100". Speakers:Polk SDA SRS, 3.1TL, FXi5, FXi3, 2-SVS 20-29, Yamaha, SVS center sub. Power:2-Monster HTS3500, Furman M-8D & RR16 Plus. 2-SAE 4000 X-overs, SAE 5000a noise reduction, MSB Link DAC III, MSB Powerbase, Behringer 2496, Monarchy DIP 24/96. -
so Joe, did all the drivers arrive ok?? did you hook them up already?? I bet you did .... tell us how they sound with the SAE/SAE/SAE/SAE......_________________________________________________

Ricardo....nothing is hooked up yet and nothing will be hooked up until I check ALL the audio gear. The last thing I want is to turn it on and see smoke billowing from all the components (slight exaggeration). Remember, my audio gear has been sitting idle for a few years collecting dust, and the last time I used it I heard a "hum" coming from the base speakers...so the amps need to be checked out. I also need to replace ALL my interconnects......I need suggestions here, which interconnects at a reasonable price??Amplifiers: 1-SAE Mark IV, 4-SAE 2400, 1-SAE 2500, 2-SAE 2600, 1-Buttkicker BKA 1000N w/2-tactile transducers. Sources: Sony BDP CX7000es, Sony CX300/CX400/CX450/CX455, SAE 8000 tuner, Akai 4000D R2R, Technics 1100A TT, Epson 8500UB with Carada 100". There are several options for decent interconnects at reasonable prices..bluejean, signal, audioquest, outlawaudio....I think Signal cable gives some discount to forum members....
I have outlaw all the way; they are in the cheap side, sound good, no hum from the tube pre, and have the locking RCA's..._________________________________________________
