Help, my subwoofer only works sometimes

I'm having problems with my JVC PSW 1200 powered sub. The sub only works sometimes. I have to turn on some music very loud to get it to start working. Then after it has been working for awhile I can switch to a movie and it will work fine. If the movie has any extended periods with dialogue only and no bass then it wont work anymore. This is driving me nuts. I am using the crossover in the subwoofer. Help!!!!!!

Its the autosensing circuitry. Up the sub out level on the receiver a couple notches.

I have the speaker wires going from the recievers front right and front left channel to the high level input on the sub and the high level out right and left channel on the sub to the front right and front left speakers.

Sounds like you may have it set to auto on. Can you turn it permanently on?
