RM6600 upgrade for Yamaha 7.1 reciever

First post, long time lurker.....

I have a Yamaha RX-V2500 7.1 130w/ch reciever along with a Polk RM6600 system (RM2300 sats, RM2600 center) and a PSW450 sub (all Black).

I live in an apartment complex.

I want to keep the PSW450 sub, make the RM2300 sats my 4 surround speakers.

I want to upgrade the front soundstage. What would match well with the sats and sub?

You seem to have chip on your shoulder there sport. Perhaps the reason that no one has answered your question, after less than 24 hours, is the fact that it's still the "Holiday Season" and there isn't a whole lot of traffic on this board right now.

Your speaker system offers surprisingly good sound from a rather small package, problem is getting a good match with the existing line-up of Polk Speakers. You should consider using speakers that match your current speakers for a seamless surround effect. Found some for ya....

You started with the same speakers that I did. I upgraded my front 3 speakers to LSi series and kept the rear 2 speakers as my surrounds. (my AVR does not do 7.1) While I did notice a big increase in sound and sound quality when I switched them out to LSi7's, they worked pretty well.

Since they are just going in as your surrounds, get out and get your listen on. Pick a series or speaker that you like and work from there. Think of it as a system upgrade, not done deal when you purchase your new front speakers.

Get whatever sound you like that meets your budget and don't sweat the surrounds. They will be fine until you get out of your apartment. You could even purchase your future rear speakers and run them as your fronts until you move. (get a good bookshelf and center that matches that series, then when you move - put the bookshelf as rears and purchase matching bookshelves or towers as fronts.)

Don't worry about matching to what you have. Get what you like and move your system in that direction.

I dunno, the possibilities are endless. Find a pair of mains and matching center that fit your space, tastes and budget and go from there.

Seeing that you don't offer much info on any of those criteria, it's kinda hard to offer an opinion. You know?
