Trying to choose...

I'm trying to match a decent surround system to my Panny Plasma. Prior to getting my plasma my 27" Panny CRT was hooked to a Pioneer A/V receiver (VSX-D498) that was powering a pair of RTi70's and a PSW404. The receiver and speakers were originally bought for music and they sounded great but I figured why not hook the tv up to it too, so I did.

Now that I've got my 42" Panny plasma, I've mounted it on the wall over my fireplace (see attached pic) and there is no room for the RTi70's so they have been moved to the bedroom with the sub, receiver and CD changer.

I originally was thinking of getting a Polk Surroundbar as it would suit my needs and I could still get rear surrounds for it in the future. This seems ideal since I have less than 4" on the right side of my plasma to mount a speaker and the surroundbar can be mounted above the panel as well.

I'm not totally set on the Surroundbar so I've been looking at complete systems as running rear speaker wires isn't a big deal, just mounting postions for fronts. But I figured if I could mount the surround bar above the plasma I could do the same with seperate and just turn the front surrounds on their side for a "clean" look across the top. Although I'm not sure what that will do to the sound since it wouldn't be coming from the sides of the panel? Opinions?

I've thought about the RM 10's and 20's but just think for that price the surroundbar would be better for me? I can always move my 404 back out the living room where the plasma is.

Any ideas or suggestions? My room is 18'Lx15'W, but the viewing/listening area is only about 15'Lx8'W. I am planning on using an Onkyo TX-LR552 to power the speakers if that matters any.

Here is a picture of my currently set up. Excuse it's incompletness. I'm thinking of building shelves for the area on the right which is supposed to be wood storage that I don't use. The sub would probably go right in front of that area or on the left side where that lamp is (it's just there for asthetics).

Try the Surroundbar and put a pair of speakers in the rear, as suggested by Polk. This will provide a very clean install and exceptional sound.

Thanks. Good to know my initial instincts weren't way off. Just seeing all of the other systems starts to make me thing which is usually where I get sidetracked.

Suggestions for a sub? My current 404 should do the trick I'd guess? Then I'd just need to get something else for my bedroom and the RTi70's. Crutchfield is offering a sub w/ a Sbar purchase but it's the smallest model available and probably not suited for my rooms/systems.

While I'm at it, what color Sbar do you think would look best? Titanimun would look best now but eventually I'm going to upgrade the plasma to something bigger so it may have a black bezel. Although I'm sure I can always recover the Sbar grille with black speaker cloth if need be.

The titanium still wouldn't look too bad with a black TV. Things don't always have to be strictly coordinated. You still a lot of black on silver out there...

thanks for the input guys but I scrapped this whole idea and rearranged my living room so I could use my current RTi70's and am looking for a CSI30 or 40 now.
