LS-90's from the 90's worth anything?

I have a pair of very excellent condition black LS90's that I've been dragging around for too long. I haven't even opened them up in my last two moves--I move around a lot...

I will probably upgrade to a new Surround Bar. Are these LS 90's worth anything to anybody or should I take them to Goodwill...?

Thank you in advance for any counsel.

Jay

They are very nice speakers. Too good for goodwill. Last time you played them were all the drivers and tweeters working? Where are you located and how much do you wantfor them? They don't change hands very often so setting a price is difficult.

I just sold a pair to a friend. At some point, I will buy a pair again. Where are these located? They cost a bunch to ship. If you are close, I might be interested...

These units are working great and I have them right now in Portland, OR. Even the cases are virtually scratch free.

I have no idea what they are worth... would you suggest auctioning them on eBay or AudioWeb or Audiogon?

In the last year, I have seen them go for as little as about 125 to as much as 450 on e-bay. Sometimes is makes no sense. You could put them up here for about 250 - 300 and someone will be a happy owner. You just joined, so be prepared to explain why you are joining and selling equipment with your first posts... personally, I don't have a problem with it, but many like the security of purchasing from someone that is part of this "community".

Do what these other guys have said. Name your price up front and be reasonable. Few people here mind paying a fair market price or even someone making a little cash if they got a steal of deal on something as long as you are reasonable and don't jerk folks around and, oh yeah, post pictures!

Don't listen to these guys. They aren't worth a dime. Good Will wouldn't even want them and they're too expensive to ship anywhere.

If you want, you can drive them to my house and then I'll be stuck with them. OK?

    Goodwill? Hell no, that's sacrilege!
I'm sure somebody here would work a deal with you if they were close enough in proximity. I jump on them myself if you were in my neck of the woods. Shipping will likely be a non-starter on these.

I really appreciate all the advice. Of course, it makes sense to get them out of the boxes, shine em up, take pictures, do all the eBay crap... I just don't think I have the energy/time to spend. I'm in the middle of new job and moving... I don't even have a scale to see how much they weigh for shipping...

Here's the deal. If any of you want to pay for the shipping, they are yours--free. I'll gladly drive them to UPS. But I'm not going to take pictures or do any new testing. You have my word--they are in excellent shape and working flawlessly.

    Let me know,

    Jay

I'll take them if none of the above wants them :)

You have got to be kidding...

Get 'em Ricardo. They are really nice speakers.

Damn fine thing you're doing, Jay.

Edit: First come first served, man. This isn't like they said I'll buy them. They weren't offered until 10:44, you have first call at 10:54. They are yours...

I PM'd Jay with my "offer", but then withdrew it; there are at least three other members that showed interest, so I will not jump over them. I think this would be the right thing to do :)

    Jay,

Here's a thought; since you are willing to part with them, why don't you offer a Karma? You define the requirements (i.e pay for shipment, pay for your gas/coffee/time to get them to UPS..); then allow some time for members to jump in, and then just pick one of the names. In this way everyone has an opportunity.

It's up to you; whatever you decide, this is a wonderful offering you are doing here..

This is really a great thing you are doing. Karma might be a good thing. I don't know, what does everyone thinks about shipping these things? If they are in mint condition they should stay that way. UPS might do them in
IMHO Again Jay this is really neat.

I honestly regret selling my last pair. I will pay shipping and a generous amount for your time. If you decide to put them up for Karma, that would be a great idea, too. Shipping with DHL from Houston to Sioux Falls, SD was 86 dollars; I suspect that it would be about 125 from Portland to Houston and a pickup charge for them to go to your residence...

OK, JUST NOW got a call from the ONE FRIEND here in town who was interested. Sorry guys, he's going to take them. This is the lowest impact (shipping/logistics-wise) on me AND perhaps I'll get to visit them someday. This has been fun--please don't hate me. If Andy didn't JUST call me, honestly, one of you would have had them.

It's the only LS series worth owning.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
