I've had my computer speakers at work do it, but not really at home. Lately I've been noticing that when a cell phone is in use in my living room, it makes my right Lsi15 do this weird buzz sound. At work it only does this on my computer speakers if the phone is right next to a speaker. If I pull it away, it stops. In my living room, just sitting on the couch and it is doing it.
Anyone else have this problem? Should shielding prevent this or is this something entirely different?

What is 'on' when you get the buzz? Tubes can be very susceptable to outside interference. I've picked up AM radio through a tube preamp before.

My daughter uses Cingular. If her cell phone is in the HT room and rings, my rear sub makes all kinds of noises. It drives my crazy. My nextel doesn't have this effect on it.

well, amps and the Dared (tube pre) are powered on, just no source units (dvd, vcr, etc) are powered on.
so maybe it's the tubes picking up interference.

I would say tubes or could be your remote control if it is RF instead of IR.

Mine does it to me all the time if I put my phone up to any audio stuff (when the phone is placing / in a call). Occasionally when the phone is quite close to something, say beside my amp or my laptop, when it goes to check the network or w/e it makes a different little set of beeps, fuzz, buzz noisies.

It doesn't really affect anything as long as I'm more than a foot away.

i have a motorola v400. i don't know anything about the technical stuff, but from what i gather it causes interference when it uh,synchs with the tower or something.

i had a different problem with the phone and the fix (from motorola) was to turn it off for a few seconds every couple of days, then turn it back on (i was used to leaving it on 24X7). anyway, after i started turning it off once in a while, the strength of the uh,synchs were not as powerful and now the interference is almost unnoticable. before the fix, it was silly,.. my friends made jokes about how my phone screwed things up when i walked in the room.

I've found motorola to be a lot like microsoft. They put out cool new cutting edge products but they're always released without enough testing and people start finding all these different bugs and problems. The V551 had a big problem with going crazy after being on for a couple days, so you had to restart it after a few days.

the only thing i noticed (other than the interference) was that on calls that lasted over about 15 minutes, it would drop the call like clockwork at close to 15 minute intervals.

edit: oh yeah. i think motorola told me to turn it off and on at least once every 3.3 days.
