what's going on with my M200's turning on?

Okay, I have two M200's plugged in to a line conditioner that regulates voltage (dips and spikes). This conditioner displays if it is currently cleaning up a dip/spike or nothing. Whenever a voltage spike or dip occurs, my M200's turn on automatically like when its circuit identifies input and does the auto-on.
The input to these M200's is a Dared tube pre. It too is plugged in to the conditioner.
With the functified electricity this building has, I didn't want the tubes plugged in to a dirty outlet.
Any ideas?

How is your trigger set up?

I don't use the seperate trigger cable for the M200's. They have some "signal sensing" circuit on the RCA inputs which turns it on. That's why I was wondering about the preamp since the RCA's are coming from there. Just as a test, I've unplugged the preamp from the conditioner and just into a power strip. I'm waiting to see if it occurs still.

well, so far so good. the m200's haven't kicked on and i have seen some voltage dips displayed on the line conditioner. if this fixes it, that's really weird. i don't understand how plugging the preamp into the conditioner could cause a problem.

well, that should prove your preamp is causing your m200 to trip on. I thought about having you unplug your M200 from conditioner...but that wouldn't have anything to do with the auto trip. That preamp has got to be tripping the amp to come on.
I assume this is happining when your trying to listen to 2 channel?

well, actually i'm not trying to listen to anything. the amps just click on. i took the m200's out of the conditioner just to see. but i'm currently watching something so the amps are on anyway. we'll have to see afterwards if they stay off.

I bet it is your cell phone effing with your remote frequencies. Just a thought from your other thread.

This is pretty common. my oven used to trigger my subwoofers. Know how you can hear ground loop? They're getting triggered by a slight change in the ground. You could probably get an isolated ground installed for just that outlet, but you're better off just wiring up a 12v trigger.

Turn the power strip off, when not in use.

I agree that it may be your cell phone, if you have one.

I have a Rotel amp I set to signal sense and an Energy subwoofer. Both would turn on if I placed a call, or the cell synced with the towers.

Fix was easy in my case, because it would only happen if the cell phone was in the same room, so I don't leave it in that room anymore. No big deal anyways, after 5 minutes they shut back off.

+1 on Russman's comment! I run 6 M200's in my HT, and they have a very sensitive signal trigger. You could hear mine turn on and off based on transient current in the system, etc. Kind of like they had minds of their own. I now use a 12v power supply from Parts Express that is plugged into the switched outlet on the back of the HT receiver. It has enough current to trigger all of my other equipment. When I am not going to use the HT for a while, I hit the power switch on my Tripp Lite LCR2400. Problem solved!
