Hi to everyone! I'm Alberto and I'm completely new to this forum and to the argument...recently I had the chance to buy an old Denon AVR 1800+a couple of B&W DM601 Series 2 speaker...so I enter for the first time in the 'world' of home theatre, mainly to give a boost to my collection of videogame consoles...so I connect to the Denon my TV, my iPod dock, Gamecube, and XBOX+PS2 using fiber optic cables...I had a center speaker, found two Bose speakers for the surround...only the sub's missing...two days ago I was in a shop and I saw an offer for a Polk PSW10 sub...I'm so ignorant on this stuff+I wanted a sub+the cherry PSW10 is so cute&nice = I bought it!
Now I have a question: the sub instruction manual shows a LFE connection on the sub but it doesn't exist on the PSW10, so is not possible for me to use the subwoofer out on the Denon (and connect to the sub LFE IN)...so my only chance is to use the Polk method? I've read something about it but I'm still very confused, sorry for that!
Also, on the Denon I found an extra couple of jack to drive another couple of front speakers (they're called A and B, I've connected my B&W to the A jacks) and near the Denon SUBWOOFER OUT there are two FRONT LINE OUT (left&right)...argh, more confusion! should I connect the PSW10 L/R to those last? Or may I use the second couple of FRONT L/R and connect to the sub LEVEL INPUT?
Sorry guys for my deep ignorance...someone help me!!! the Polk sub is still unconnected in a corner of my room....and I'm still trying to understand somethin' about the hookup methods......argh.....I'm drowning.....h...e...l..p!
Thanks!!!

Welcome Albo!
If I were in your shoes I would run my (A) to the sub left and right then out to the mains. Ensure you turn the cross over on the sub to about 80 Hz and set the Denon to (NO) lfe. Since this is the preferred method let it soak until you get used to it.
I have never seen the question posed before regarding the B channel but I see no reason why it would not work. This approach seems like a pretty good idea and it would be interesting to hear what your thoughts are from a before and after trial.

Thanks a lot...I was afraid to start 'delirating' about the problem, but I'll be happy to try this evening right after work...I live in Italy and the time now is 3.20 PM (finish @ 5PM)...plus in a few days I have to go to Grand Rapids (Michigan) to work (I'm a software engineer, industrial automation&PLC's) so I have little time to try the connections and enjoy...so sad!...
Thanks again...if possible I'll let You know my impressions...in the worst case I'll post again when I'll be set in the hotel @ destination...I've been there several times, fast web connection in the room guarantees that I'll keep in touch with my friends & the internet.
