I'm setting up my first surround sound. I have a 2 yr old 65" Hitachi rear projection. The ONLY place I have for my Left front - Center - Right Front speakers is on TOP of the TV. Three CS1 would lay nicely almost all the way across the top. Is there any downfall to using all CS1 for the the front channels (LF - CENTER - RF) Note: This will be a 5.1 set-up with Monitor 30s in the rear corners.

Sorry for the confusing question ... Has anyone ever used only CS1 speakers for the all the FRONT positions -- Left front - Center - Right front - (all CS1's) ???

Seriously get a surround bar if you are limited in space and add a good sub with it and you are set. Use the the search function, do not use three centers on top of your TV.

I like the monitor sound. My original plan was for (1) CS1 (2) Monitor 40s for front corners (2) Monitor 30 @ rear corners -- My thoughts were that since the Monitor 40 and the CS1 both share the same speaker sets -- Swaping them would be ok??? Why would this be wrong??? NOTE: I already own (1) CS1 + (2) Monitor 30s

I had thought about doing that with a set on Infinity Beta center channels because they looked cool and i thought it would be fun, not that i really had the need to do so. Actually i think its a great idea. My guess is that a CS1 would sound just like a Monitor40... same driver specs and everything, just a slightly different shape.

I say go for it! I'd rather have a trio of CS1s compared to a sound bar. I get the impression that you have the same mindset as me :)

That would put your front channels really close together. (I think that would be your main concern.)

I would guess that it would work. It would be hard to limit cancellations between speakers with 3 sitting that close together.

Just get two more CS1's and give it a shot. If it sounds bad return them, if you like it who gives an eff what we think... :)
