Any experience with this Ebay vendor?

Hey Ya'll,

Anyone here ever buy from this Ebay vendor? I'm in the market for an LSiC but the Polk websiter warns of unauthorized vendores. Am I better off just waiting for someone to selll one that was purchased retail. Advice?

He sells open box, close-out, and refurbished items mostly. You'd probably find item ID tags removed. I purchased a pair of Klipsch ceiling mount speakers from him, smooth transaction, speakers fine -- but, I knew going in there was no factory warranty: "with a limited 90 day warranty from AcousticSoundDesign."

99.7% positive feedback with near 2000 transactions. I would say you are pretty safe. (no warrantee though if that is important to you).

I have noticed quite a few people on audoreview that purchased LSi's from acousticsounddesign and they all seem happy with the transaction.

About 4 years ago, I bought a Denon AVR-2802 and Energy Take 5.2 system from them. Yes, they've been around for awhile. I bought directly over the phone (not through Ebay). They were good to deal with and the merchandise was shipped double boxed, it was new in box, not B-stock. The serials were not tampered with. That said, I contacted them about some Polk LSI awhile back and they told me for sure there is no Polk warranty on the ones they are selling through Ebay, only their 90 day warranty.

If you buy from them, you will get their 90 day warranty. If you buy used, you will get no warranty. Polk warranties are not transferable.

I bought several speakers from him - even my beloved LSi9. He is a good seller. I remember that I was shocked to see a box half my size show up at my front door. I opened it up and somewhere in the middle of all this foam peanuts was the LSi9 box. If you know how big the LSi9 box is to begin with, you will have a better appreciation of how LARGE the double box was.

Thanks everyone. I was not so concerned with the warranty, although I did not realize they were non transferable, but was more concerned with Polks mention of counterfeits. Didn't know if this was a legitimate concern or if Polk's statement on such is used to placate their "authorized" dealers
