7.1 Speaker Addition

I currently am running a Denon 1803 5.1 system. I have RT800i mains, CS400i center and F/X500i surronds. I just ordered a Pioneer VSX1015TXK 7.1 receiver. I was wondering what speakers would I add for the rears 7.1. Can you give me new and old models that will fit my current speakers. Also would the F/X500i's become the middle surronds or would they go in the rear?

Thanks,

Maybe you could find some more F/X500is on Ebay so you can keep the timbre in the rear soundstage. The dipoles are better as side surrounds if you are going to get something else for the rears but I used to have dipoles for rears and they sounded good there also.

find a new pair of f/x speakers. Don't cheapen the surround field by adding monopoles to what looks like a nice 7.1 system.

fx300's will do fine for the back. For 7.1 i prefer an all BIpole setup. Sides and back.

Been a while since any f/x 500's have popped up on the 'bay... not that they won't.

If you will be placing the rears 4' or more behind you, monoploes will work and afford you more options to match your existing RTxxxi series system.

You could put a set of RT f/x's back there also. or if you want to go mono pole, anything with the tri-lam ( RTxxx).
