Subwoofer Noobie needs advice...

I'm looking at buying a new sub, I have 7.1 in my HT. I've got a Denon 3805 and Polk Towers for Fronts with powered subs. I currently don't have a sub, but I'm getting ready to buy one, what's the best sub I can buy for around $500?
