Wow, just checked that out and it looks like it has the potential to be really good. As in all horror movies the only truly scary stuff is the believeable stuff. I really hope the director goes this route. I checked out the link on the website to the 'true events' webpage and read up on the guy that this movie is loosely based on.

Hadn't heard of it before you mentioned it.

I havent cared for the newer horror movies latelty. I loved the old "slasher" flicks like Friday the 13th and so on but the newer ones just dont seem as good to me. Maybe theyre more believable nowadays or maybe Im just getting tired of the genre.

I didnt care for the new Texas Chainsaw or either of the Saws but I loved Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Who knows.

The Horror genre is my favorite, but when it comes to a good movie that can scare you to the bone the pickins are pretty slim. Se7en is my all-time favorite movie just for the brilliant acting of Brad Pitt & Morgan Freeman, and also Kevin Spacey to a lesser extent due to his actual minimal role in the film. Beyond that the movie is just freaky as hell.

To me, reality is the best way to base a horror movie, but I don't mind the occasional pop-corn horror. It's just so often that these directors start with something that's really promising and then they jack it all up by having some really off the wall stuff. Did you see Jeepers Creepers? That movie started out sooo damn good, but it didn't take more than about 30 minutes to turn to crap. Taking a scary serial killer human being and then turning him into some super villian with special powers and such just kills the horror of it all.

Ive always perferred the super natural bad guys. Demons and ghosts are my thing.

Some of my favorites are Alien of course, John Carpenter's The Thing, The Relic and so on.

I guess I prefer a movie that in no way reminds me of reality. I want to watch a movie to escape reality, not be reminded of it.
