DVD decoder software

Within the last 6 months, I wiped everything out and started from scratch. I don't have my original instal discs for my laptop, so I just installed XP pro. I've got a Toshiba laptop, and didn't download much from Tosh's site.
At this point, I am now needing to use the DVD player on my laptop. The problem I have is there are no decoders installed on the computer. There weren't any available on Tosh's webisite either, so I am in a pickle. I won't be using the DVD function very often, so it doesn't have to be elaborate.
What is the easiest, and cheapest(free), decoder that will play DVD's on my computer.
Thanks for the help.
Zach

DVD decryptor. Its free, its awesome.
You search for it, I'll see if I can find it on my hard drive. -
I found my install copy. PM me with your address and I'll send it as an attachment.

I think okie is looking for the DVD PLAYBACK software, not the ripper/decryptor software. Unfortunately, most of them cost a little money, unless they come bundled with hardware. I've got quite a few that came with hardware, but they don't function without the hardware installed. There are a few freeware ones out there if you search.
I've read that the newer versions of Windows Media Player will playback DVDs IF you have the appropriate CODEC installed, which again costs a little money, but usually less than the full software. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
