Just ordered a Velodyne SMS-1 today from Outlaw. I should get it Friday. Does anyone else have this? I am excited to play with it.

    I got this all hooked up and all I can say is WOW! This is the tweak my HT has been missing. No matter what I could not seem to get the bass dialed in with my system. Now my HT sounds truly integrated.

    I started with the auto EQ. which actually did a good job of leveling things out . Then I disabled the crossover in the SMS itself and used the manual EQ. This is where the SMS really shines. I was able to run the signal through my whole system. It was really interesting to see how the chart flattened out as I adjusted the phase and crossover. The SMS-1 enabled me to see what was actually ocurring in my system and let me adjust settings on the fly. I discovered that I have the flattest response with my P-965 crossover set at 40 and my SVS phase at 180. Then I just adjusted the peak frequencies downward to get a nice curve with just a little extra oomph (not much) in the 20ish region. The result is amazing. My Ht has always sounded good but there was always something missing. It lacked a sense of cohesiveness and I was always 'aware' of the sub. Now it is a thing of beauty. The SMS-1 is wonderful. I don't know how I ever lived without it.

    Did you pay $599+ for this? Is this simply the device that helps blend it all together, or did it include a set of speakers/subs??? I couldn't tell from the site. Sounds pretty interesting. Obviously you found it to help a ton.

    Yep. $599.00. It's just the EQ. Dollar for dollar it has made the biggest improvement in the sound of my Ht and worth every penny.
